Background

Mac's Child Care Centre is a Children rescue centre located in Kasarani Division of Nairobi the capital city of Kenya. It is in Kwangula maternity estate along Kasarani - Mwiki road next to Haco Industries.

The centre was established in 1992 by Jeremiah on realising that there were many destitute and orphaned children in the vicinity who require to be loved, fed, Clothed, Educated and given a secure place to grow. Unfortunately most of the children in this area have no luxury of enjoying thee necessitries.

With the saving that he had, Jeremiah rented rooms and took in six children at that time and ever since then the centre has received support from institutions as it grew over the years.

In addition to the work they undertake with the children, they also sought to educate the parents and the community on the dangers of drug abuse, sexual abuse on children and matters if HIV and AIDS as these are the underlying causes for the rising numbers of orphaned and neglected children.
